Mobilisation & Fascial Release

Our podiatrists may use a combination of soft tissue mobilisation, myofascial release and other remedial massage techniques to treat tightness within the muscles and relieve pain. These techniques aim to:

  • Relax tense muscles
  • Improve blood and lymphatic circulation
  • Improve flexibility and joint mobility
  • Stimulate nerve receptors, relieving pain.

There are a number lower leg conditions that may benefit from using mobilization and fascial release techniques. Some of the common conditions that will benefit include:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Heel Pain, especially Achilles tendinosis
  • Shin Splints
  • Arthritis of the small joints of the foot and ankle
